Afterbloom

Inspired by the death's head hawkmoth and its cinematic legacy, this series confronts mortality through the lens of uncanny beauty. Each portrait merges human features with moth symbolism, creating figures that are simultaneously beautiful and ominous. The moths serve as memento mori—reminders of death that paradoxically celebrate life's fragile intensity.

These pieces push the boundaries of conventional beauty standards, asking viewers to find attraction in what traditionally repels and to recognize death as an integral part of nature's ecosystem. The psychological complexity of these works reflects the artist's exploration of transformation, metamorphosis, and the beautiful terror of becoming something entirely new.
